A bit of recognition by Ch. 5

Crystal opened Consign-Mart after working at, then later
managing Earth Friendly Kids in Ashland, OR., (a  wonderful
consignment shop exclusively for kids items) Over the 5 years
there, she learned to appreciate the value of resale and
recycling while serving its cost-conscious  & environmentally
aware patrons.  She soon realized that there are people in all
communities who are supporters of re-using & re-selling
gently used items in order to save/make hard-earned cash &
they would benefit from a "miscellaneous" consignment store
that offers resale of many different types of items. This
drove her to reluctantly part with her friends at
Earth-Friendly kids and seek a small shop of her own with
reasonable lease terms and freindly neighbors. She found
what seemed to be the perfect spot to start this endeavor in
what used to be an auto repair shop in a little town about 15
miles north of Ashland & five miles south of Medford called
Phoenix, Oregon. With the generosity, craftsmanship and
flexibility of the Marquess', (owners of the building), she
opened Consign-Mart on October 1st, 2008 on a shoestring
budget and a regiment of prayers. She knows she'll never get
rich from something like this, but wanted to be fulfilled in
her work, as in life. Also it's important for her to be a
contributor of goodness and kindness to those in and around
her community.

As we launch this web-site in mid-June, 2009, we're also
proud to announce that just 8 months later, Crystal has enjoyed
an array of compliments from the community and is grateful for
its support. Consign-Mart now has a database of over 350
consignors who have earned cash while helping to reduce waste.
We also thank many of these consignors for allowing Crystal to
donate their passed-on items to local charities and shelters.
Consign-Mart has also afforded numerous customers the ability
to purchase much-needed clothing and furnishings at a fraction
of the retail cost during this trying time in our economy.

Now that's proof that recycling pays!
